The band are currently in the studio working on their debut album which is set to be released in the autumn 2024.
The Gatlin Boys' Journey: Turning American Folk Rock on It's head and captivating audiences with their unique approach to the genre. Infusing their music with country-inspired spits and licks, they have managed to revolutionize the sound and bring it into the current music scene. Drawing inspiration from the iconic John Fogerty's Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Gatlin Boys have breathed new life into this timeless style, creating a sound that is truly their own.
Their music is deeply grounded and possesses a pop-esque punch that lingers in the listener's subconscious. Each song is a testament to the imaginative songwriting of Luke, the band's talented songwriter and guitarist. With an uncanny ability to bring the surreal to life, Luke crafts songs that are both memorable and relatable. Their music resonates with audiences, striking a chord that is both captivating and infectious. The Gatlin Boys are on a mission to share their sound with the masses, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
The band's story began a few years ago when Luke, having been involved in successful projects in the early noughties, felt the time was right to unleash his catalogue of original material. With a burning desire to assemble a full band to bring his vision to life, he wasted no time in seeking out fellow musicians who shared his passion. Enter Ryno, a skilled drummer and percussionist with whom Luke had previously collaborated. Their onstage chemistry was undeniable, making the decision to join forces an effortless one. Ryno's journey as a musician had seen him perform in cover bands and original acts, gracing some of the biggest stages in the UK and receiving recognition through radio play and magazine spreads. Ready to take his music to the next level, Ryno was eager to embark on this new chapter alongside Luke.
Together, Luke and Ryno embarked on a quest to find the missing pieces of this musical puzzle. The search led them to Dan, a bassist with an extraordinary talent for bringing the low tones to life. Dan's experience in various bands and genres allowed him to effortlessly navigate the intricacies of The bands sound. His incredible skill set, combined with his grounding presence, created a solid foundation for the band's music. Dan had finally found his musical home with The Gatlin Boys.
The last member to join the ranks was Paul, affectionately known as Sidders. As a lead guitarist, Sidders possessed an unparalleled prowess and a distinctive style that complemented the band's vision. His swampy licks and authentic treatment of his instrument added depth and texture, completing the dynamic sound that The Gatlin Boys had been striving to achieve. Sidders' extensive experience, garnered through years of playing in different bands, had finally led him to his rightful place within the band.
They draw their influences from a wide array of musical legends, ranging from Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, David Bowie, and Willie Nelson, to CCR, ZZ Top, The Beatles, The Police, Supergrass, Blink-182, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, and many more. This eclectic mix of inspiration is evident in their rich and captivating sound, which has garnered considerable attention and acclaim. Their music invites listeners to sing, hum, and dance, allowing them to lose themselves in the moment without a care in the world. The only regret one may have is not having discovered Them sooner.
The band's talent and distinct approach have not gone unnoticed. They achieved a significant milestone when they were featured on BBC Introducing's new music show on BBC Radio Solent with Fern Buckley. To gain such a nod is no mere task and the band are thrilled and this has led to their growing audience and presence within the current scene.
